Erik Burnham is a Minnesotan writer and artist that first broke into comics by way of the Nick Landime feature from the Shooting Star Comics Anthology. His work at Shooting Star led him to IDW Publishing in 2008, where he wrote and drew the story "The Wish Thief" for the Gene Simmons’ House of Horror anthology series.
Starting in 2011, Burnham began his work on the critically acclaimed work on the Ghostbusters line of comic books. He, along with artist Dan Schoening have been working on the Ghostbusters series together since then. Burnham has also worked on other properties such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Back to the Future, and Galaxy Quest. Currently, he is writing Ghostbusters 101, again teamed with Schoening, and an arc of TMNT Universe with artist Sophie Campbell, focused on antagonist Karai.
