While appearing tobe in black & white, each page has been scanned in COLOR tomimic as closely as possible the experience of viewing the actualoriginal art—for example, you are able to clearly seepaste-overs, blue pencils in the art, editorial notes, artcorrections. Each page is printed the same size as drawn, and thepaper selected is as close as possible to the original artboard.

IDW to release second all-new anthology of Dave Stevens’beloved character

Eisner-winning Creators Tapped For Mars Attacks Ongoing Series
John Layman, John McCrea to reimagine cult sci-fi classic inJune
San Diego, CA (January23, 2012)— IDW Publishing and Topps are pleased to announcethe multiple Eisner Award-winning creative team for MARS ATTACKS,an all-new ongoing comic series based on the fan-favorite MarsAttacks franchise.
Debuting in June 2012, IDW’s comic series will offer thefirst stories of an all-new Mars Attacks universe,bringing the brand’s outrageous action and dark humor to anew set of tales. Writer John Layman, author andco-creator of the Eisner-winning series Chew, will pen theseries, with art by John McCrea, best known forhis collaborations with Garth Ennis, includingEisner-winner Hitman.
“I’m a huge fan of Mars Attacks from a longway back. I own about half the original card set from 1962 and havea pretty big collection of collectables and doodads,”Layman said. “It’s always been a dreamof mine to destroy the Earth and inflict huge degrees of sufferingon the rest of humanity. With this Mars Attacks series, Ifinally get my chance.”
Created in 1962, Mars Attacks celebrates its 50thanniversary in 2012 with major product launches throughout theyear. IDW’s new comic series, as well as high-qualityreprints of existing material, will be a cornerstone of thateffort.
