Inner Monologue
Each month, the newsletter features thoughts from different
members of the IDW team. Our February newsletter brings thoughts
from Carlos Guzman, IDW's editorial assistant.
"This month
marks my one year anniversary working at IDW. I need to let that
sink in for a second...
When I started as an intern (back in the far off year of 2009), I
had little idea as to what would come of this opportunity. Knowing
my time as an intern was relatively short (February to May), I
decided to make the best possible impression in the brief span of
time I had. If nothing else, I would earn myself some glowing
recommendations to ease the transition from college kid to
employable adult, I thought.
It seems I made TOO good an impression: not a month after my
internship had passed, IDW called me back and brought me on as
Editorial Assistant on G.I. Joe and Transformers. Since then, I've
had to stay sharp and learn fast, as more and more responsibility
found it's way unto my desk. It's been fast paced and I've barely
had the chance to breathe.
But, given the luxury of this moment of reflection, I can catch my
breath. And, on this momentous anniversary, I'm glad I've gotten
the chance to reflect, however briefly, on what is certainly one of
the best experiences of my life thus far. Well... here's to the
next anniversary! "
