Jeff Mariotte¹s Desperadoes: Banners Of Gold Rides in December for IDW

Where else but IDW Publishing can you get a taste of the Old West with a slant of modern horror?

In December, IDW Publishing is proud to release the first issue of Jeff Mariotte's Desperadoes. Desperadoes, formerly published by Homage Comics, is returning in a new five-issue miniseries is called Banners Of Gold. In the book, which features the amazing art of newcomer Jeremy Haun, the hard-living Desperadoes deal with the repercussions of their last adventure and run up against a new kind of horrror. Gideon Brood, Jeremy Betts and Abby DeGrazia find themselves teaming up with a spiritualist that has been run out of town only to walk right into something much worse.

Desperadoes is a wonderful mix of the Old West with twisted horror. It's been critically acclaimed and nominated for both the Horror Writers Association's Bram Stoker Award and the International Horror Guild Award. Writer and creator Jeff Mariotte is also a well-known novelist noted for such books as Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel. Mariotte recently moved to the same southwest in which Desperadoes is set. He is finding that getting dirt under his cowboy boots on a regular basis has inspired his writing on this series to an even greater degree.

"Desperadoes has always been a hybrid of the Western and horror, and nobody has done more than IDW to reinvigorate horror comics,' said Mariotte. "So it's the perfect place for Desperadoes to make its long-awaited return. And Jeremy Haun is the perfect guy to breathe new life into the characters so many people have taken into their hearts. Between his interiors and a John Cassaday cover, backed by IDW's brand name, this should be a great series.'

Desperadoes: Banners of Gold #1 is a full-color, 32-page comic book with a cover price of $3.99.
