"Ashley Wood is an award-winning artist and illustrator famous for his work across a variety of media including comics, video games, TV, movies, and toys. His comic work has been published by DC Comics, Marvel, Image, and IDW Publishing.
With IDW Publishing, Wood saw great critical and commercial success with projects like Zombies Vs Robots (which was optioned by Sony and is in pre-production), World War Robot (optioned by and in pre-production with Disney Studios), Popbot (currently being turned into a film by Resolution Independent Studios), Doomed, and the Metal Gear Solid comics adaptation, which was produced in conjunction with legendary Japanese game designer Hideo Kojima. He also provided cover art to the original 30 Days of Night miniseries, as well as the series reboot in 2018. IDW has also published several of Ashley Wood’s art books, including Adventure Kartel and Tomorrow Kings, both of which are based on custom action figures created by Woods’s own 3A company, a Hong Kong-based production house that manufactures premium toys and prints based on Woods’s designs.
Outside of comics, Woods has designed art for video games including Metal Gear Solid, Halo 3, and Contra, and designed action figures for companies like Todd McFarlane Toys, Sideshow, and his own 3A brand. He recently expanded into the world of music via a comic book collaboration with South African superstars Die Antwoord called F*ck Everyone, which launched at SDCC 2017 and accompanied the release of the band’s new single of the same name."
